The Pyro Bright Flash timing system  uses the video camera, VCR and TV monitor that you already have to produce the simplest, most reliable and affordable timing system available anywhere. At the beginning of the race, the timer is aimed at the starting pistol, and is automatically triggered by the flash of the Pyro Bright Flash starter\'s cartridges. A video camera is located at the finish line and photographs each runner as they cross. The timing interface adds time information to this picture and the information is recorded on a VCR. At the end of each race, the tape is played back and the times and places for all the runners are read out. This can be done in less than a minute, and the system is ready for the next race!
