with Nate Leaman, Union College (NY) Head Ice Hockey Coach; US National Under-18 team Assistant CoachIn Life After the Rush, Coach Leaman, through the part-part-whole method and repetition, demonstrates methods to attack the net after making a rush attempt. This DVD is broken down in three parts. Part 1 demonstrates different ways to attacking as a 5-man group using a triangle set up. Puck carriers must be quick to their feet, execute strong 1-on-1 moves, and not show the puck. Reading the first man to the puck will strengthen the attack on the goal. Leaman makes excellent use of on-ice footage to show cutbacks. Part 2 deals with the first player to the puck, his foot movement down low and the chip. These drills allow for a lot of creativity behind the net. Featured is three-man rotation and F3 jamming the net to create time and space for the puck carrier. Part 3 focuses on creating chaos in the offensive zone. Rollouts into an umbrella formation show how your offense can spread out the opponent and get them away from the net. This DVD is an in-depth look into aggressive offensive play following the rush and will give your team the tools for scoring success. 31 minutes. 2006.
