Through these changes he shows the proper way to fit the gear, buy new gear and shares insider tips and tricks for hockey. He begins by discussing how to properly outfit any player with each piece of gear needed. He also includes a special section on goalie equipment. Ewen covers skate maintenance, which includes sharpening skates, breaking in new skates, skate fitting and skate balance. Additional products discussed include goaltender's neck guard, lexon protector, thigh guards, gloves (both long and short cuff), helmets, masks and sticks. Stick considerations are due to the difference in positions on the ice and should be measured and cut to the appropriate height for each player.
