RFID System Set Up

Option 1 - Ground Mat Antenna System

Connect the two end section antennas to the middle section while routing the cables through the inside channels of the antenna mats. The antenna with the longest cable should be the the furthest away from the RFID reader. Place the connected antennas over the top of the finish line.

Option 2 - Side Mounted Antenna System

1. The FIRST ANTENNA should be raised approximately 1.5-2 feet off the ground and positioned directly to the side of the finish line while facing straight inward at the finish line.

2. The SECOND ANTENNA should be raised approximately 2-4 feet off the ground and positioned directly in front of (as shown on previous page) OR directly adjacent to the FIRST ANTENNA (as shown below) while facing straight inward at the finish line.

3. It is recommended the THIRD ANTENNA be placed approximately 10 feet beyond the other two antennas (to serve as a back-up) and positioned with a slight angle toward the finish line.

Sample set-up (hardware relationship) for a road race or cross country race.
This event is set up to finish on a running track. The configuration would be the same regardless of the finish location.
